A Weekend With the Smiths

After spending most of July relaxing following June’s wedding festivities, I said goodbye to my parents and headed off to Comox for a weekend with the Smiths as Ash and Andrew were in town too.

Now, it was good that I had already had my time relaxing, because the Smiths just don’t stop. They’re a family of do’ers – the most high energy retirees that I know. (Follow their adventures here, especially their report of the weekend)

I was only in Comox for one night, but still we managed to…

…amble around at the Comox Rod and Gun Club …

Andrew, way off in the distance, with his Go-Pro ready (though without having charged the battery)

…go swimming at Stotan Falls…

…and cap the day off by having a BBQ at the Comox Spit with the extended clan.

The next morning we got up to go blueberry picking…

So many blueberries!

So many blueberries!

…so that we could have a MASSIVE breakfast…

THREE different types of pancakes, PLUS ham. So much.

…and go tubing down the Puntledge River (sadly no photos).

By the time Ash, Andrew, and I got to the ferry in Nanaimo we were absolutely knackere. Still, we all agreed that we wouldn’t have traded the weekend for anything else!
